Shops and Pubs
As with all towns, traders have had their ups and downs and the shops have changed to reflect the times. The earliest surviving photos date from the late 19th century, many of which are available to view in the archive.

The post office is now a general store. (c1910)

Taken on a much quieter than market day, it can be seen that not much has changed in over 100 years. (1910s ?)

As with the Old Crown, the Spread Eagle has retained its name for quite some time!
The Dusty Miller, Millhouse Green
The building is still standing and is now a private residence.
